About Us

Mariam was born and bred
in Matemwe
and she has been
the heart and soul
of Utupoa for the last 10 years.
She lives in the village
with her family.
Her Swahili cooking
is quite wonderful.

Fatuma joined us in 2010.
Her home
is in Bububu.
She has gained
considerable experience
working in a range
of hotels
and we are very fortunate
to have gained her services
as a cook and housekeeper.

At night, the askaris
Musa and Pili
will keep you safe
as they patrol the compound
